Our DroneXWeb Camp is about hands-on learning, innovation and adventure. You’ll take to the skies and jump in at the forefront of an emerging field. Come and learn how Drones are being used in today’s world. Students will be introduced to Drone operations through class room instruction, flight simulators, and actual flight operations. Classes will include an introduction to small Unmanned Aerial Systems, common uses, Unmanned Aircraft Systems Lab (UAS), UAS Sims and 3D mapping and rendering software. Students will gain an understanding of UAS fixed wing and multi-rotor aircraft through hands on experience building, testing and flying an autopilot controlled quad-copter.

But that’s not all!

During the camp we will also introduce the participants to the wonderful world of web design. The participants will learn about the two basic building blocks of a website, HTML and CSS. These two web design languages are the fundamental pieces required to build any website. We believe that learning how to code, is like learning to become a superhero. Through volunteer led, collaborative, youth centric, fun learning, we will guide the participants to explore technology with a unique twist. By the end of the workshop, the participants will have learned more about the terminology, and technology behind a website and will use footage taken during the program to build their own one-page website complete with text, photos, video and more! They will be able to share their one-page site with others with a dedicated link and to social media etc. to promote themselves and what he/she accomplished over the summer!

Collectively the participants will also work to complete a website for a selected local non-profit organization which will be showcased at the end of the summer and launched by the end of the year.
