Orena earned her high school diploma from Redford High School, Detroit MI, participating in various extracurricular activities such as the newspaper staff, office secretary, pep team, and the “Strong Songs Teen Reporter”for 4 years with WJLB 98 FM. Additionally, Orena has made a long list of academic accomplishments: a certification with the American Career Academy in Computerized Banking, Record-Keeping and Finance, a certification with Wayne State Job Training Partnership Act in Word-processing, a Bachelor's Degree from Davenport University for Business Administration majoring in General Marketing, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix with a concentration in General Marketing.
In 2004 she produced a radio show full time on AM 1200 WCHB, on 107.5 FM WGPR in Michigan and WYCA 102.3 FM in Illinois/Indiana called, “The Car Man Show”. After two years with The Car Man Show, she then pursued, "Who’s Who in Black Detroit Publication".
In 2005 Orena helped to organize, host, and promote, “Jazz on the Blvd”which provided an intimate and mellow vibe, in a serene and relaxing atmosphere. Jazz on the Blvd. provided live entertainment, free food, and drink specials each Thursday, with a total of 8 different acts from June to October at the Hotel St. Regis. During the same year she became the Board of Director’s President of "Wayne County, Mothers Against Drunk Driving”, where she served until the organization was transitioned.
In 2005, she also joined the "International Detroit Black Expo". Mr. Kenneth L. Harris, Founder and CEO of the nonprofit organization, selected her to serve on the Board of Directors as Secretary. Orena'srole with the IDBE is the Executive Assistant to the President, Ken Harris. Each month she assists Mr. Harris in hosting the "Black Business Expo"which allows the community and the business owners become educated and to network.
Orena currently is the Founder and Manager of The Acquisitionist, Incorporated and JEADL Enterprises. Orena currently works with the Certification Review Committee with the Great Lakes Women’s Business Council, board member of Love That Works, Inc., associate member of theNational Association of Black Journalist and a Deacon at Central Baptist Church. Around town she is affectionately referred to as, “The Queen”, “Queen OP”, “Ms. O”, “Lil O”, “OP in the D”, and “The Acquisitionist”. However, the greatest title that will never change is a Child of God.
